Brooks Adaptive Sports and Recreation

The Brooks Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program enables those living with a physical disability to enhance their quality of life through participation in sports and recreational activities. All ages and abilities are welcome; no experience is necessary. Individuals may participate at a competitive or non-competitive, recreational level. Equipment and expert instruction are provided at no cost to the individual.

We are a multi sport program providing daily activities and twice monthly special events. Weekly activities include wheelchair tennis, power soccer, indoor and outdoor rowing, archery, handcycling, quad rugby, billiards and bowling. Special events include surfing, water skiing, martial arts, horseback riding, sled hockey and more. The Program also sponsors educational events with topics specific to disability issues, yearly training clinics with experts in each of our sports, and competitions in which local athletes compete alongside those holding National and World Champion titles and Paralympic status.

The vision of the Brooks Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program is that individuals living with a physical disability will enjoy a higher quality of life as a result of participation in our activities. The mission is to provide the inspiration, education and opportunity to participate.  The overall Program goal is to enable a higher quality of life as evidenced by enhanced physical, emotional, and social health and well being. Our most recent Program Evaluation Survey results indicate that we meet or exceed our customers’ expectations in these areas at the 100% level. Our motto is Fun, Fitness, and Friendship!

Our teams compete with teams from around Florida and across the country. Plus, we sponsor adaptive sporting events and competitions, as well as instructional clinics led by athletes holding national and world champion titles and Paralympic status, giving our athletes a chance to learn from the experts.
