Dr. Guy Selander earned his BA from Maryville College and completed his medical education at Seton Hall (now the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). He interned at Fitkin Memorial Hospital in Neptune, N.J. and was Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Dr. Selander has had his practice, Jacksonville Family Practice, in Jacksonville since July 1964.
Dr. Selander has served as President of the Duval County Medical Society, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Medical Association. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for Memorial Medical Center. He also serves on the board of First Professionals Insurance Company (FPIC). Dr. Selander has been awarded several honors in his long career, including Memorial Medical Center Physician of the Year and Florida Family Physician of the Year.
