Brooks Community Health Advisory Board
As a multi-generational native of Jacksonville, Leith Oatman is passionate about civic involvement and the future of this community. Oatman understands that strong leadership skills are necessary not only for the current state of our community, but the future of our community as well. She has made a difference in this community by raising two magnet students of her own, volunteering countless hours to the public school system, and actively participating in The Meninak Club of Jacksonville for four years.
Through this elite membership she has made a positive impact by participating in charities and activities such as Salvation Army and Scholarship Fund. In addition, Oatman has served as Chair of Events and Member Benefits for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Executive Board for two consecutive years, 2004 and 2005. In this role, she facilitated Morning Networks and Business After-Hours, which are the Chamber of Commerce's networking events for small and emerging business. She has represented the Chamber of Commerce for numerous events.
Professionally, Oatman has over 22 years of experience in the design field, and was recently promoted to Principal of Corporate Design with Gresham, Smith & Partners. Over the years, she has developed the rare talent of balancing her work, civic duties and family commitments. In 2003, Community Connections of Jacksonville recognized Leith Oatman's commitment to the community by honoring her with the Excellence in Leadership Award. Her civic commitment in addition to her professional accomplishments and commitments earned her the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Florida School of Design, Construction and Planning in 2004.
In addition to her commitment to her work and her family, Oatman is dedicated to the Jacksonville community and its forward progression and successes.
