John Leschitz, PT, DPT

Dr. John Leschitz received his Physical Therapy degree in 2011 from the University of Florida Department of Physical Therapy. In his final year with the department, John was able to attend five state and national conferences featuring well-respected leaders in the profession of Physical Therapy giving him the opportunity to learn and become inspired about the rapid advancement of the profession as a recognized expert in rehabilitation and movement science. Prior to graduation, John attended several continuing education courses giving him advanced skills with spinal mobilization for back and neck pain. He also brings with him 32 weeks of clinical experience as a Physical Therapy Intern along with participation in two research studies involving a pediatric spinal cord injury and an adult stroke survivor. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and belongs to both Orthopedic and Neurologic Sections within the organization. He has also given several presentations to practicing clinicians covering low back pain, balance in stroke patients, and safe rehabilitation of cardiopulmonary patients using ECG and interpretation of vital signs during exercise. While at the University of Florida, John also helped to develop and execute a community service project whose mission is to increase physical activity in young girls via education and group activities. He has found his passions in the Orthopedic Specialty and advocates for unrestricted direct access for patients to physical therapists. He also has interests in private practice, teaching and research. John is currently practicing as a Physical Therapist at the Orange Park and Fleming Island Clinics, and is excited to continue his training as an Orthopedic Resident with Brooks Rehabilitation.
