Brooks Clinical Dietician, Kerrin Going, has created a series of recipes to help Brooks stroke patients learn how to become more heart healthy. A combination of recipes and cooking videos, will guide you on your way to a healthier you. Special guest chef, Dr. Trevor Paris will also make an appearance with his heart healthy recipe.
Research shows that a diet low in fat and rich in lowfat dairy foods, fruits and vegetables substantially lowers blood pressure in people with or without high blood pressure. DASH stands for Dietary Approach to Stopping Hypertention, and Brooks is incorporating this diet to help patients make improvements in blood pressure which is usually seen with an increase in lowfat dairy products, fruits and vegetables.
