There is more to managing pain than just pain reduction. The primary focus of the pain team at Brooks is to help you become you again. We want you to do the things that you used to do, and be the person you used to be. We want to help you physically, mentally and emotionally manage the negative effects of pain. Patients who have completed the Brooks Pain Rehabilitation Program have noted Outcomes such as:
- Improved Strength
- Improved Flexibility
- Improved Endurance
- Improved Tolerance for daily activities
- Improved Pain management skills
- Improved Stress management skills
- Decreased depression
- Modified medications
To make this happen, patients are involved in therapy activities daily from Monday through Friday. The day begins at 9 o'clock with group education followed by physical activities. Each day is filled with a combination of individual and group therapies ending by 4 p.m. There is also a scheduled weekly staff meeting that you attend to help plan your treatment for the following week.
