Residency/Fellowship Program Goals To support the mission, vision and values of Brooks Rehabilitation, to improve the quality of care provided to the patients/clients served by highly accomplished advanced practitioners. To be a nationally recognized provider for post-professional clinical training within the area of physical therapy. To receive and maintain credentialing recognition from the APTA for the PT Residency and Fellowship programs we develop and implement. A. The program will prepare the Residents to successfully pass the ABPTS Certification within their practice specialty upon completion of the program. B. The program will prepare the Fellows in Training within the OMPT Fellowship to pursue Fellow recognition by AAOMPT upon completion of the program. The program will prepare the Residents/Fellows to provide professional development opportunities to health care practitioners within Brooks Rehabilitation as well as the local community, regionally, and nationally with emphasis in the following areas: clinical skill acquisition; performance of scholarly activities; educational training; understanding and embracing professionalism; service as clinical leaders; and efficient/effective practice management. The program will prepare residents/fellows to be autonomous providers of physical therapy services who embrace the culture of a doctoring profession, within their specialized area and/or sub-specialty area of clinical practice as well as all aspects of APTAs Vision 2020. The program will provide Residents with mentoring in the following areas: clinical competence; scholarly activities; educational activities; professionalism; and practice management.
