Join us Saturday March 16th, 2013 from 9am-2:30pm at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital for our annual Celebrate Independence event, featuring J.R. Martinez. J.R. Martinez is an actor, motivational speaker, army veteran, author and Season 13 winner of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. J.R. sustained severe burns to over 34% of his body while serving as an Army infantryman in Iraq.

*Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses are free and are elidgeible for 1 CEU credit (pending approval) for physical therapists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, speech language pathologists and psychologists. Registration begins at 9am. Brooks Staff please sign up via Brooks University. Non-Brooks staff can sign up by clicking on the sign up button below. About The Keynote Speaker
J.R. Martinez is an actor, motivational speaker, army veteran, author and Season 13 winner of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. In 2003, Martinez sustained severe burns to over 34% of his body while serving as an Army infantryman in Iraq. While J.R.’s experience was certainly life-changing, amazingly he claims this is actually a change for the better. From 2008 - 2011, he played the role of Brot Monroe on the Emmy Award winning daytime drama All My Children after a friend persuaded him to go to an open casting call.
