Neuromuscular Research Program

The Neuromuscular Research Program focuses on developing effective treatments to help individuals with neurological disorders such as stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injury. Our multidisciplinary team, which includes scientists, clinicians and engineers is committed to conducting research that is meaningful to patients and leads to advancements in clinical practice and rehabilitation science.

Musculoskeletal Research Program

The Musculoskeletal Research Program aims to improve the delivery of rehabilitation care for individuals experiencing a variety of musculoskeletal pain related conditions including low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and knee pain. Our primary goals are to prevent the transition from acute to chronic pain, explore rehabilitation approaches to treat chronic pain and to better understand the underlying factors of effective treatments for these conditions.

Cancer Rehabilitation and Pelvic Disorders Research Program

The Cancer Rehabilitation and Pelvic Disorders Research Program aims to improve the delivery of care for individuals with abdomino-pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. We also aim to improve delivery of care for those recovering from cancer treatment, and pregnant and post-partum individuals. Our primary goals are to prevent the transition from acute to chronic pain, explore rehabilitation approaches to treat chronic pain and to better understand the underlying factors of effective treatments for these conditions.

Learning & Development Research Program

The Learning and Development Research Program aims to advance rehabilitation practice and patient outcomes through a better understanding of the personal and environmental factors that foster excellence and innovation in rehabilitation professionals. The focus of this program includes post-profession education programs such as residency and fellowship training, and the career-long pursuit of professional development.
