Handcycling is a fully integrated sport, meaning athletes with disabilities participate alongside able-bodied athletes. This type of inclusive event is consistent with the Brooks' community reintegration philosophy of rehabilitation.

The Brooks Adaptive Sports & Recreation program provides handcycling opportunities through activities like Handcycling Hit the Road program which takes participants to a remote location for a longer and more scenic ride, and the first ever Northeast Florida Handcycle Race and Clinic of which Brooks Rehabilitation was the Title Sponsor.

No matter what the event, athletes may use their own equipment, or may borrow it from the Brooks Adaptive Sports Program.
