Inpatient Process

For more than 35 years, our sole focus at Brooks has been helping you to reach your highest potential. Our unique, Integrated Team Approach includes a powerful combination of people, passion and programs that is unparalleled in the region. At the center of our specialized, cutting-edge care is Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, a 157-bed, not-for-profit hospital that offers round the clock coverage by a nurse team and physiatrists, or their designated assistants.

Is Brooks right for me?

In order to be admitted to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, patients must:

  • Require a hospital level of care
  • Need a comprehensive physical rehabilitation program
  • Be able to participate in and benefit from intensive rehabilitation to include three hours of therapy per day
  • Have a discharge plan in place
  • Have a physician referral

Your first steps

Your care will begin before you even arrive at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. While you are still in an acute care hospital, our nurse liaison or physician specializing in rehabilitation will conduct a complete evaluation of your condition. They will also answer any questions you or your family has and help prepare you for your admittance to our hospital. Our Admissions Department will help you to determine either your insurance coverage or other financial arrangements.
